Celebrating Love & life

I love many things – love, my family, my friends, hugs, a good laugh, stories, music, chatting over a coffee and cake (or a meal and wine), cheese, living in Dorset by the sea, travelling and people with all their differences and complexities.

I’m very fortunate to say that my life has been full of people, fun and adventure. As I have got older, I have learnt to enjoy more time on my own but my greatest pleasure comes from being with people – chatting, helping, sharing, caring and cheering together.

I have always believed that life is for living and loving and I try to look for the best in everyone and everything as I navigate the highs and the lows, we all experience as we go. Celebrating life’s milestones brings me great comfort and pleasure, it is important to take a moment to reflect on all the emotions and memories we share.

all about me Jayne Griffin

People fascinate me, I grew up in a huge multi-generational family full of characters and was an infant teacher for over 30 years working with children and their families from all over this wonderful world of ours with different beliefs and traditions, a real privilege.

I have been called many things over the years including Mum, Our Jayne, Auntie Jayne, Mrs Griffin (a decision I didn’t make lightly when I got married in 1992 – I kept my maiden name as a middle name) and Jolly Jayne. I try to be cheerful and present for those who need and love me, whatever they choose to call me.

I now live in Swanage, Dorset with my husband having settled here after living for most of my life in the Midlands, as far away from the coast as you can get.

We have two grown-up children who we are immensely proud of and they visit us and their two cats as often as they can.

I am passionately respectful and inclusive in all that I do. I truly believe that everyone should be able to live their best life whoever they are. I am a LGBTQIA+ ally and considerate to anyone living with a disability.   I believe that love and life should be celebrated in all its forms, embracing differences in faith, gender, sexuality, race and culture is what makes this world of ours so amazing!

Why I became a Celebrant

I started my celebrant journey while living in France where my husband and I lived for 3 years on our French Adventure enjoying our life there enormously. However, during that time a little part of me was missing – the part where I was able to make a difference to people. This is something I have always been passionate about and being a celebrant lets me do exactly that during some of life’s most cherished milestones and moments.

Celebrating new life through a naming ceremony, a new marriage through a wedding ceremony, a long-lasting love through a vow renewal, a life well lived through a celebration of life or funeral ceremony is always my pleasure and privilege is what I am meant to do!

I care about you and your story, and I will help tell it with the perfect mix of emotion, cheerfulness and fun.

Why choose ME

I have a reputation for being easy to talk to, a good listener, emotional, creative, organised, considerate, and a tad dramatic – all of which are true and all of which help me to be the celebrant who can turn your special ceremonies into cherished moments. I receive many compliments about my ceremonies from couples, families, guests and professionals about my storytelling, support and delivery and each kind word means the world to me.

I pride myself on the warmth and empathy I bring to my role as a celebrant, but I’ll also bring along lots of smiles and giggles too. Life is full of emotions and stories to be told, so let’s feel and tell them together!

Please give me a call and we can share your stories over a cuppa so that I can then create the perfect ceremony for celebrating you, your love and your loved ones.

Let's talk about your cherished moments!
